Coeur d’Alene, Idaho company, Empire Aerospace, expects to double in size by servicing jets

A Coeur d’Alene-based airplane servicing company expects to double in size after securing its next contract.

Empire Aerospace http://www.empireaerospace.com/ has serviced large propeller airplane known as turboprops for about a decade, but it is now looking to diversify because more and more customers are choosing to fly in jets.

The company sought approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to work on S.A. ERJ 145 jets, a 46-seat commuter jet used by airlines such as Delta and United Airlines, and it plans to begin working on that type of jet in 2016.
