Survey finds support for tax increases to improve Missoula transportation infrastructure

If you were to randomly select a public transportation user in the Missoula area, the odds are they would be young, low-income and female. It also appears many support increasing fuel taxes to pay for road and street maintenance.

That’s according to the "2015 Missoula Area Transportation Survey Final Report" by the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana. The survey was commissioned by the Missoula County-City of Missoula Metropolitan Planning Organization to understand how people use trails, buses and roads and how they feel about the experience.
