Idaho awards Workforce Development Training grant to AMI Semiconductor

Officials of AMI Semiconductor Inc. in Pocatello will accept a $176,000 Workforce Development Training Fund grant from the state today.

The award will be announced by Idaho Department of Labor Director Roger Madsen and Idaho Department of Commerce Director LaMoyne Hyde before tours of AMI’s new facility within the Idaho State University Business and Research Park.

Idaho’s Workforce Development Training Fund is financed from 3 percent of the state’s unemployment insurance taxes. No state general fund dollars are used. The fund generates about $3 million per year to help companies train new employees
