Making art pay: Montana Artrepreneur Program returns to the Bitterroot

The business of art is a hard thing for many artists to get their head wrapped around.

KJ Kahnle of Hamilton has been an artist for as long as she can remember, but she had never really given much hope that she would ever be able to create a business around her love to create.

"I had been doing art forever, but I had never done anything with it," Kahnle said. "I was a typical artist. I didn’t know anything about the business end of art."

Three years ago, that all changed when she joined a group of Bitterroot Valley artists enrolled in the Montana Arts Council’s Montana Artrepreneur Program.
