Study estimates $4.4 million in economic impact stems from The Event at Rebecca Farm

Complimentary communities drawn together for world-class event

The largest equestrian triathlon in the country is making a big splash in the Flathead, according to a study recently completed by the University of Montana Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research. Established as one of the Flathead?s premier destination events, The Event at Rebecca Farm’s 2015 economic impact is estimated at $4.4 million.

At 4.4 million in economic impact, The Event at Rebecca Farm ranks alongside signature events such as the Mountain Madness Airshow, Montana Spartan Race and Montana Dragon Board Festival.

"Destination events such as Montana Dragon Boat Festival and The Event at Rebecca Farm have a dual draw and that means a significant benefit to the Flathead," shared Diane Medler, director of the Kalispell Convention and Visitors Bureau. "Event tourism is a great boost to our local economy. Visitors who come to compete often stay to play, spending money on hotels, food, and shopping."

The Event at Rebecca Farm attracted 10,000 attendees from 29 of the United States, multiple international countries, and from across Montana. Of these attendees, there were 590 entries in the event.

In the equestrian world, The Event at Rebecca Farm is considered a "bucket list" experience due to its world-class facility and proximity to Glacier National Park. Many competitors consistently participate each year and couple the trip with a vacation. On average, those visiting for The Event at Rebecca Farm reported a week stay in the Flathead.

"The Event at Rebecca Farm is a special way we invest in what matters most to us – our local and equestrian communities," said Sarah Broussard, organizer of The Event at Rebecca Farm. "It’s wonderful to see this event bettering the lives of our friends and neighbors."
