NorthWestern Energy announces money for conservation projects
The state’s largest public utility is shelling out more than $1 million for conservation projects around the state, including a few in the Madison Valley.
NorthWestern Energy http://northwesternenergy.com/ announced this week it would give out $1.2 million for 39 different projects to improve fishery and wildlife habitat on the Madison and Missouri rivers, including further restoration of wetland and aquatic habitats at O’Dell Creek, a Madison River tributary, and aspen tree habitat near Quake Lake.
That money will be matched by another $1.4 million in state and federal grants, making $2.6 million in all.
