Montana Democrats react to Gianforte run for governor

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

The Montana Democratic Party responded Wednesday to the announcement by billionaire Republican Greg Gianforte that he is running for governor.

At a news conference shortly after Gianforte’s announcement in Billings, the party slammed Gianforte’s "shell plans".

Meanwhile, party members touted Gov. Steve Bullock’s work to create jobs and a "rainy day" fund for the state.

Rep. Kelly McCarthy of Billings also questioned Gianforte’s agenda, including his religious background that thus far has not been addressed by the candidate himself.
