The City of Bozeman partners with Northwestern Energy to explore solar savings

Over the summer, NorthWestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ offered to invest $3 million in renewable energy projects across Montana. One third of that money, $1 million, was to be spent in Bozeman.

"I think this is our most promising opportunity to advance our renewable energy goals," said Mayor of Bozeman Jeff Krauss. "The City of Bozeman and MSU will be partnering with NorthWestern Energy in this project of expanding renewable energy."

"Our goals are to evaluate long term sustainable models for the integration of renewable energy," said Krauss. "The solar project will concurrently test several key areas, community solar, peak shaving, for example local peak shaving at the wastewater treatment plant."
