City Club Missoula Forum – The Missoula Art Park; A Creative Placemaking Partnership, 12/14

The Missoula Art Park; A Creative Placemaking Partnership

Featuring Laura Millin of the
Missoula Art Museum,
Jim Sayer of Adventure Cycling, and
Gregg Wood of the City of Missoula

The Missoula Art Museum, the City of Missoula and Adventure Cycling have teamed up on a new park in the heart of downtown. The Missoula Art Park will offer a green oasis where people can gather, a place where sculpture on display and culturally enriching programming provide a natural hub for downtown. The Art Park will play several roles, including a place for tourism visitors to gather, a place for residents to meet, economic enhancement for downtown and a place for Missoula’s ever-growing numbers of touring cyclists to rest and visit. The new park will surround the art museum and stretch across Pine Street to the national headquarters of the Adventure Cycling Association.

The Art Park collaborators expect to break ground in spring. Come hear about this new development and ask some questions.

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
