Flats east of Missoula eyed for solar energy farm
November 7, 2015 /
By this time next year, Missoula County could have its first utility-scale solar plant, one of the first in Montana.
A new California company that is aggressively developing similar projects across the nation has proposed to build a solar farm on the old Bandmann Ranch east of Missoula.
Cypress Creek Renewables wants to establish a 3-megawatt facility on 40 acres off Deer Creek Road. It claims the plant would be capable of supplying energy to approximately 540 homes, though the electricity would be sold to NorthWestern Energy to place on the grid.
