Flathead Area Chambers make final recruitment call for 4th Annual Small Business Saturday

deadline for small businesses to sign up for no-cost, shop small holiday promotion

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce announces that

will be the final day for businesses to sign up for the 2015 Small Business Saturday. Chambers throughout the valley started recruitment in September and have set this deadline in order to ensure maximum promotion for all businesses involved.

Scheduled for November 28, the Saturday after Black Friday, the no-cost Small Business Saturday event champions a day to shop small. Businesses in Kalispell may register for the event through the Kalispell Chamber and those in the communities of Lakeside, Whitefish, Bigfork, Polson, and Evergreen should contact their local chamber to get signed up.

The Kalispell Chamber first presented and promoted Small Business Saturday in 2012 and it has grown every year. The Chamber’s Small Business Saturday in 2013 and attracted 28 businesses. In 2014, Kalispell’s Small Business Saturday hosted 70 businesses, and 65 are already signed up for this year.

"We’re trying to think bigger than ever this year with Small Business Saturday," said Chamber President Joe Unterreiner. "The numbers show this day is moving the needle for the small businesses we serve. It’s exciting to help local businesses swing into the holiday season with momentum."

Not only does Small Business Saturday give small businesses the chance to showcase the variety and quality of their goods, it cultivates a network of independent businesses united for a common cause. From salons and fine jewelry to camping gear and dining establishments, Small Business Saturday supports all types of retailers and service providers.

"It’s nice to see the community working together," said Sara Berweger, owner of Flair Boutique. "The holidays are crucial to our yearly success, and Small Business Saturday allows us the chance to join with other businesses in promoting the shop small message."
