Downtown Missoula Retail Pop-Up Sale Sunday, Oct. 18 At The Newly-Renovated Wilma Theater

Ten Downtown Missoula retailers will join together for the semi-annual Retail Pop-Up Sale this Sunday, Oct. 18 from 12-4 pm at the newly-renovated Historic Wilma Theatre at 131 South Higgins.

Betty’s Divine, Cloth & Crown, Mood Boutique, Laurel Creek, La Bella Vita, Olive & Iron, The Green Light, One Eleven, Velvet Bride and The Trail Head will all showcase their seasonal clearance items, and everything will be on sale and affordable.

"We’ve been doing the seasonal collective sale twice a year for eight years," said Aimee McQuilkin, owner of Betty’s Divine. "It’s a wonderful experience for the shopper because they get to shop sales items at 10 different stores with a one-stop shop."

McQuilkin and Paige Livingston, owner of One Eleven, organize the semi-annual event.

New this year is the VIP Entry with proceeds going to a local non-profit. For $20, folks will have the opportunity for a quiet and personal shopping experience from 11am to noon. Those shoppers will receive a complimentary Mimosa and a branded Downtown Missoula shopping bag made of recycled plastic bottles. The first 20 shoppers in the door after the noon opening will receive a complimentary cocktail, courtesy of the Wilma Theatre.

The semi-annual Downtown Pop-Up Sale was started in 2007 and happens twice a year, usually in April and October. Previous locations have included the Governor’s Room, the Top Hat, and Plonk. McQuilkin believes that this event is a fun example of how cross-industry collaboration works for everyone.

"This is a great event for us because it gives our retailers the opportunity to work together on a unifying project, plus it’s a great way to reduce our seasonal inventory in the fall and the spring," McQuilkin said.
