MISSOULIAN EDITORIAL: Time to learn about proposed school bonds

When the boiler broke at Rattlesnake Elementary one cold February night, students missed a day of instruction while a temporary heating duct system was installed. When they returned to school, the children were advised to bring their warmest winter gear.

The heating system for this building and others throughout Missoula County Public Schools is woefully outdated and inefficient – even when it is not breaking down. When the aging boilers do break, replacement parts must be custom-manufactured, which costs even more money.
