Montana PSC grants Missoula’s Mountain Water suitor Liberty Utility Co. ‘special protection’

A member of the Montana Public Service Commission criticized the panel’s decision to grant special protections to "secret information" provided by Liberty Utility Co., which is looking to purchase Missoula’s drinking water system.

"Anyone who is interested in how a company that wants to own the water system for Missoula will operate that system is not allowed to see the information," said Dale Bickell, the city’s chief administrative officer. "We would have a responsibility, even if we weren’t in this matter, to look at Liberty on behalf of our city and our system."
