University of Montana Researchers Receive Grant to Study Traumatic Brain Injuries

"We’re hoping that with this award, we can actually use Montana technologies, Montana ideas, to really make a big difference in the treatment, the diagnosis and social impacts," Patel says.

The team, led by assistant research professor Sarjubhai Patel, will use the funds to develop new technologies to diagnose and treat TBI.

The funds are from the $15 million "Montana University System Research Initiative," which, according to Gov Steve Bullock in a news story from Montana Public Radio, is designed to encourage innovation in traditional and emerging industries.
