MSU Extension hosts National Extension Technology Community conference

Information technology specialists from land-grant universities across America are gathered at Big Sky this week for the National Extension Technology Community conference http://www.netc2015.org , "Mountains of Code: Technological Transcendence under the Big Sky."

NETC began in 1986 as an annual conference to support information technology professionals who work within and on behalf of the Cooperative Extension System and at land-grant universities throughout the U.S. According to Millie Veltkamp, Montana State University Extension communications and technology coordinator and co-chair of the event, technology plays an increasing role in fulfilling the outreach mission of land-grant universities by connecting place-bound citizens, as well as researchers and field faculty, with the most current, unbiased information available. This year’s conference, hosted by MSU Extension, features keynote speakers Jeff Kaufman, Rob Irizarry and Ken Dunham.
