Montana Career Opportunity – Android Developer – onXmaps

onXmaps (onxmaps.com) is seeking a talented motivated Senior Android Developer to play a key role in our mobile application product development team in Missoula Montana. We are a profitable rapidly growing company in beautiful Western Montana looking for the right person who can appreciate our outdoor culture to join our team.

Minimum Qualifications:

– The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

– 5+ years of software development experience and 2+ years of Android App development experience

– Proficiency in Java, HTML, CSS and JavaScript in mobile applications

– Experience leading development of commercial mobile applications that have been successfully delivered to customers via Google play Store

– Knowledge of Android’s common software design patterns and experience delivering superior UX design on Android Apps across tablets and phones

– Identify and resolve compatibility issues across the wide range of Android versions and devices

– Strong written and verbal communication skills

– Experience in the GIS arena is highly desirable.

Duties performed in this position will involve:

– Back-end/front-end Application and Software Development (some interface development) in Android Studio, Git version control and follow an Agile development model.

– Collaboration on the development, deployment, and serving of GPS maps for recreational use, and Mobile Apps to present these maps.

– Research and Development of mapping on new platforms.

onXmaps is based in Missoula, Montana. Normal work schedule is 40 hours/week, generally M-F from 8-5. Selected candidate must relocate or live in the Missoula area. Salary is commensurate with experience, and paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and Health care and retirement benefits are part of the package.
