There’s music stirring in the Beartooth foothills west of this tiny ranch town, and it’s more than the whistling pines.
Road graders are rumbling and hammers banging, as an intimate art and music venue rises from the 11,000 acres of Tippet Rise. The product is the brainchild of artists and philanthropists Cathy and Peter Halstead.
Tippet Rise Foundation acquired the property about five years ago. A band shell, dubbed "Tiara," was erected and last year and hosted performances by Billings Symphony Orchestra members. But now, Tippet Rise is growing up.
