Starting over: Three decline historic preservation job in Butte, Montana, new search begins
May 23, 2015 /
Butte-Silver Bow is restarting the search for a new historic preservation officer from scratch after three finalists offered the job turned it down.
Chief Executive Matt Vincent said he and others on a 12-member search committee decided not to offer the job to a fourth finalist. The post has been vacant since Jim Jarvis left in December to become an independent consultant after five years on the job.
Interviews were conducted via Skype with the finalists, and two of them visited Butte at their own expense, he said.
