Ravalli County leaders study idea of a food processing center – Please take the survey

Ravalli County leaders hope a new survey will help them gauge the interest for having a shared food processing center in the Bitterroot Valley.

The Bitterroot has long been known as a farming and ranching region, and in more recent years has seen the development and marketing of additional food products such as apples.

But getting local products processed and ready for market is often a challenge, especially for smaller operators who would like to get their food stuffs to a wider consumer base.

Now the Small Business Development Center of the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority http://www.rceda.org/ has launched a special survey to "assess the need and feasibility" of a processing center.
