Entrepreneurial ecosystems global summit, part 1!

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

What a great get-together of thinkers and, more important, doers! I’m not sure that the group could have been more diverse in backgrounds and expertise except that logistics prevented more international participation. Discussion was intense but positive. Yes, we focused on the issues that most impede growing a healthy entrepreneurial community – turf grabbers (even bullies), willful ignorance of entrepreneurship’s importance to GDP & jobs, etc.

But we focused on solutions and that made it a powerful experience. I’d ride to battle with any of them. Maria Meyers and her crew with US Sourcelink & KC Sourcelink (like Cathi Ulrich, Pola Firestone, Sarah Mote, Kate Hodel, et al.) did a splendid job hosting this at Entrepreneurship Mecca (a/k/a the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in KC.)
