Montgomery Distillery Plans Fall 2015 Tour of Scotland Whiskey Distilleries

Montgomery Distillery http://www.montgomerydistillery.com will host a tour to Scotland for twelve guests in early November 2015 to visit distilleries on Islay: Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnhabhain, Kilchoman, and Caol Ila. Guests will enjoy room and board at the charming Harbour Inn in the village of Bowmore.

The tour will be led by Montgomery distiller Kira Bassingthwaighte who will guide evening tastings and introduce guests to the many attractions Islay has to offer, including nature walks, migratory bird watching, a woolen mill tour, and historical points of interest. The cost of the tour is $2,500 per person. Guests will arrange their own air transport to Scotland.

Since opening in September 2012, Montgomery Distillery has hand crafted 60,000 bottles of vodka and gin, created dozens of original and award-winning cocktails, raised over $25,000 for local non-profits and been featured in national press such as Food and Wine, New York magazine and Redbook.

This year will continue to bring exciting developments from Montgomery Distillery. Single malt and rye whiskeys are slated for release in spring 2016. They will continue to introduce new botanical and fruit-based cocktails emphasizing fresh, local seasonal ingredients. All Montgomery spirits are distilled from grain, milled onsite, with the exception of the bierschnapps, which is distilled from beer brewed at Missoula microbreweries such as Big Sky and Draughtworks.
