Trucking industry not finding enough drivers – Sign-up begins for GFC MSU trucker training program

An aging workforce, tougher regulations and waning interest among younger workers are causing a nationwide shortage of truck drivers.

Despite a need for hundreds of thousands of drivers, trucking companies say they are having a tough time attracting applicants.

Sign-up begins for GFC MSU trucker training program

Sign-up has begun for Great Falls College MSU’s first commercial driver’s license, or CDL class, for potential truck drivers, and there are only 10 slots in the pilot program.

To apply, students must be at least 18, possess a current Montana driver’s license and provide their motor vehicle record, drug test results and physical exam record with the application.
