Montana kids get "STEAMed Up" MSU Billings

Montana State University Billings students hosted educational workshops for Montana kids Sunday in a push to prove the sciences can be fun when applied to their lives.

The "Let’s Get STEAMed Up!" event centered on STEAM, an acronym for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics, started three years ago for kids ages 8 to 18. The MSUB Collegiate 4-H Club created the event shortly after being resurrected by then-freshman Jasmine Drange.

Drange said the group decided to start the program as a way for the club to serve the community and considering a large portion of the members are education members, an event for kids made sense.
