Ethics report finds some issues with Bozeman’s top leaders – Mayor Krauss said the key to gaining people’s trust is transparency.

On Monday night, Bozeman city commissioners will hear whether local government is viewed as ethical by city employees.

The annual Board of Ethics report is overall favorable, but does point out some problems with the city’s top leaders.

According to the survey http://weblink.bozeman.net/WebLink8/0/doc/80197/Electronic.aspx , roughly 80 percent of the 215 employees who responded rated the City as ethical and about 14 percent of the employees rated the City as unethical.

That latter number is one Mayor Jeff Krauss wants to change.

"14 percent is a pretty high percentage," said Krauss.
