Montana State University’s Renee Reijo Pera: Using stem cells for good
March 15, 2015 /
At the end of our lives, we’d all like to "go out gracefully," says Renee Reijo Pera http://www.montana.edu/research/ .
That was her mother-in-law Edna’s wish before she died last year at age 93: to have at the end of her life a little money, the power to think straight and the ability to go to the bathroom by herself.
A scientist, Reijo Pera is searching for solutions for such human problems — to prevent degenerative brain diseases like Parkinson’s and to treat old-age incontinence — using the extraordinary science of stem cells.
