Consultant has high-tech suggestions to improve parking downtown in Billings

Billings leaders soon will find out if a parking plan could contribute to downtown expansion and make people less unhappy about feeding parking meters or renting parking spaces in downtown garages.

This week Dennis Burns, a regional vice president for Kimley-Horn and Associates of Phoenix, presented the draft Downtown Billings Parking Strategic Plan to the Billings City Council. The report must be reviewed by the city’s Parking Advisory Board before receiving formal City Council scrutiny.

The downtown parking system "has a solid foundation," a consulting team formed by Kimley-Horn determined, as well as a high-quality management staff overall.
