Washington Foundation, Montana Resources donate $1 million to Butte sports complex

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation http://www.dpwfoundation.org/ and Montana Resources http://www.montanaresources.com/ are donating $1 million to help build an American Legion baseball facility at Copper Mountain Park in Butte.

NorthWestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ is contributing $50,000 toward the project, with half of that in cash and the rest through in-kind labor to install lighting and base assembly for the field, officials announced Monday.

The $1 million Washington Foundation and Montana Resources contribution will cover nearly half the costs of the $2.3 million project. Dennis Washington founded Montana Resources, which operates a copper and molybdenum mine in Butte, in 1986 and has since acquired dozens of companies.
