Code Oregon – Treehouse to prepare and retrain Oregon residents for in-demand tech jobs

By 2020 there will be 1 million more tech jobs than qualified people to fill them. According to the Department of Labor, even if every college and university were at max capacity with a graduation rate of 100% graduating everyone they could, they would produce only graduate 29% of the needed tech talent in the next 6 years.

In Oregon alone, we are expecting 10,000 tech jobs by 2020. These careers in technology pay entry level salaries of 45-70K and do not require a degree.

In order to prepare and retrain Oregon Residents for in-demand tech jobs, Code Oregon will provide statewide access to online on-line training through Treehouse. Treehouse offers flexible, affordable and accessible training that teaches up-to-date job-ready skills.will train Oregon residents for entry level jobs in the tech industry.
