Fatal Missoula avalanche remembered 1 year later

Neighbors came out in droves with shovels helping emergency personnel uncover the victims. We took a look back at the sights and sounds of the tragic event.

It is a day many of us will never forget.

Saturday marks the first anniversary of the urban avalanche in the heart of the Rattlesnake that claimed the life of a Missoula woman and injured her husband and an 8 year old boy.

On February 28, 2014 a slide triggered by a snowboarder, thundered more than 2,000 feet down the face of Mount Jumbo.

A two story home on Holly Street was destroyed. Michel Colville, 63, was rescued after being buried, but later died from her injuries.
