Montana Career Opportunity – Economic Development Manager – JLL Rail Practice Group

This individual will report to the Senior Manager- Economic Development and be responsible for providing the highest quality service to RPG clients. This individual will be accountable for managing the project support services for the client’s Regional Economic Development Managers in their efforts to provide site and facility location services to prospective companies within an assigned geographic region. This individual will have direct accountability for portions of projects as assigned by Senior Manager- Economic Development. The individual will also be responsible for the coordination of the client’s internal project review and approval process and other internal client processes dealing with the construction or expansion of industrial rail facilities. 25% travel within assigned geographic region is possible.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage client projects and be a primary contact for all inquiries within an assigned geographic region:

Accept and independently complete assignments with a time sensitive delivery date

Understand, utilize, monitor and provide reports on clients internal project process tools including but not limited to New Business Review, APD, CPAR and Controlled Use

Initiate and coordinate on-site development meetings involving internal and external customers

Monitor and influence progress on track construction projects at industry locations

Gather information and approvals specific to a project to prepare and submit a Contract Preparation Request package

Travel to inspect and understand specific projects within geographic territories

Develop knowledge of existing real estate developments or prospective sites and buildings within the territory

Meet or exceed all goals and objectives within assigned geographic portfolio

Serve as an information resource for the client – conduct research, compile data and perform special projects

Develop and maintain positive relationships with client’s internal and external partners

Update and maintain the information related to your projects in the client’s project tracking database

Consistently provide the highest quality service to Rail Practice Group clients

Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

* Working knowledge of transportation principles, logistics concepts, real estate principles, economic development processes, and municipal and state incentive programs

* Understanding of geographic boundaries, zoning concepts, land use planning, engineering challenges, environmental issues, surveys and platting

* Understanding the use and need of basic contracts specifically indemnification, environmental and insurance provisions

* Related bachelor’s degree

* 3-5 years business experience, preferably with some direct real estate and/ or economic development experience

* Valid real estate license(s) for state(s) in which conducting business

* Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

* Must have ability to work independently of direct on site supervision by Rail Practice Group Leadership

* Must have ability to work within client satellite office environment

* Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
