New building could land manufacturers for Butte

Butte-Silver Bow hopes to construct a 15,000- to 20,000-square-foot steel building at its industrial park that would be "ready to move in" space for manufacturers to set up shop quickly and start producing.

"It’s in the planning stages, but we hope to break ground this year," Kristen Rosa, administrator of the county’s Tax Increment Financing Industrial District, said Friday.

A 20,000-square-foot building could cost in the $1 million range, but the county could recoup much of the costs by selling sectioned space in the building much like condominiums.
