Montana Tech http://www.mtech.edu/ is among a group of universities that recently received a $2.4 million grant from the National Science Foundation, the school announced Tuesday.
The money will be used to increase the number of American Indian and Alaskan Native students succeeding in graduate programs in science, technology, engineering or math.
I hope that some of that funding goes to creating partnerships with our tribal colleges and to strengthen the STEM resources that will help prepare their students who transfer into the Montana university system. IMHO, partnership is more effective than isolated recruitment.
