Poised for growth: Helena’s economy remains slow, but leaders optimistic

In the long term, Helena’s stable economy was not as heavily impacted by the recession as other areas of Montana, Director of the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research Patrick Barkey said.
But that also means Lewis and Clark County hasn’t seen as much recent growth as other locales.
"There’s really not been a lot of spark in the economy," Barkey said.
