It’s official, we’re in the future – sort of.

Hendo Hover, a Los-Gatos based company, has launched a Kickstarter to fund the world’s first production hoverboard.

A hoverboard being the holy grail of personal transportation since the device made its debut in the 1989 sci-fi classic "Back to the Future Part II," where Michael J. Fox’s character, Marty McFly, travels from 1985 to 2015 in a flying DeLorean.

But hold on, McFly.

As of now the board is only a proof of concept that hovers an inch off the special metal flooring.
