Gov. Steve Bullock came to Bozeman on Thursday to pitch his $37 million plan to offer free preschool for Montana’s 4-year-olds, a plan already running into resistance from some legislators.
Bullock said free preschool would better prepare children to learn and help working families that can’t afford quality preschools. It would, he said, increase kids’ chances of graduating, reduce their chances of ending up in jail and boost the state’s economy.
