If a child in Billings can read by the end of third grade, he or she will most likely graduate from high school, community leaders with Graduation Matters Billings said Tuesday, as they launched a long-range campaign to reduce dropouts.
However, schools can’t and shouldn’t do it alone, they said.
"As an adult in this community, we share in the responsibility to make sure every student can graduate from high school," said Bill Underriner, chair of Graduation Matters Billings and CEO of Underriner Motors.
