Engineering firm Anvil Corp. rides Bakken wave to downtown Billings expansion

Just two years ago, Anvil Corp. http://www.anvilcorp.com/ was a sleepy little engineering firm on the Billings West End that focused on design for the oil and gas industry in Yellowstone County.

Now, the company has outgrown its home office and is expanding because of the Bakken shale oil boom. The Bellingham, Wash.-based firm moved into the second floor of the Hart-Albin building in downtown Billings at the corner of Broadway and Second Avenue North.

"Right now, everything is happening so fast," said Dan Oakes, Anvil’s Billings branch manager.
