Mountain Madness Airshow planning team releases parking and Traffic plan for show

Kalispell’s upcoming airshow assures parking ease and traffic flow for spectators and travelers

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce released today the parking and traffic plan for the 2014 Mountain Madness Airshow http://www.montanaairshow.com set for August 30 and 31.

The plan ensures that spectators and those traveling through the area, but not attending the show, will enjoy both parking lots and traffic lanes operated with the highest level of efficiency. Solution Event Services, a professional parking organization hired by the Chamber, has developed a concise parking plan to be executed by 100 volunteers. The goal of the plan is expedited parking and easy traffic flow. A $5 parking donation is recommended and 100 percent of parking proceeds will go to area non-profits.

"Our volunteers are critical to the success of the airshow," explained Chris Parson, Airshow Director. "Hiring Solution Event Services helped us create an effective plan to make this easy and safe as possible for all involved."

For spectators, early arrival is still recommended. Those using general parking should anticipate 15 to 20 minutes to park and walk to the airshow’s main gate. Shuttles near the handicap spaces and VIP parking will run between the airshow’s front gates and the lot for free.

Those flying on commercial passenger flights out of Glacier Park International Airport on August 30 and 31 should arrive at least two hours ahead of their flight. Those flying out of the airport should remain in the northbound right hand lane until directed by a volunteer. For those passing through, it is recommended to take the alternative route via Highway 35 to Highway 206 or stay on Highway 93. If taking Highway 2, remain in the right hand lane until directed through the airshow traffic by a volunteer.

"We have taken incredible efforts to arrange safe traffic flow for visitors heading to Glacier National Park, commercial airline passengers, and those passing on through," continued Parson. "We hope to inspire others to stop in and stay for the day. For those attending, be assured the airshow will be thrilling from start to finish."
