You can help – Let there be light on Missoula’s bridges

As a committee member of Light Our Bridges, I’m asking for your help to light Missoula’s two pedestrian bridges spanning the Clark Fork River with tasteful, non-blinking white lights. All the costs will be borne by businesses and individuals, with no City or County funding.

The bridge project received endorsements from the University of Montana Safety Committee, Missoula Parks and Recreation, the Missoula Downtown Association and the Missoula Chamber of Commerce. We are only $10,000 away from our target of $170,000 to light the two footbridges.

Now, to give everyone a chance to take part, we’ve launched the "Light Our Way" campaign. For only $25, donors can buy one or more lights in their name, or in the name of someone special to them. Please consider buying a bulb in honor of a recent graduate, a favorite teacher, a child, grandchild, or even a pet: or buy a light in memory of a loved one. I bought bulbs for my Mother and Father, as well as my goddaughter and her brother, a recent Hellgate High School graduate. You know I rarely ask for financial support for projects in our community. This one is different–it relies solely on the people of Missoula to do some part, even a small one, to be successful. I hope that you’ll consider making a donation by buying lights on one of the two footbridges, so that we can "light Our Way" toward safer and more attractive pedestrian bridges! Thank you for your consideration.

All the best to you and your family,

Geoff Badenoch

Light Our Way donations are handled through Missoula Downtown Foundation, Inc. 501(c) 3 qualified charitable organization.
