Concern lingers over growth of Montana economy

The overall state of the U.S. economy has been disappointing, and Montana’s has yet to take off either – that’s the assessment of one of the state’s most respected economists.
Patrick Barkey, the director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana said that too many people are working part-time, and that much of the recovery has been with low paying jobs.
Growth was only pegged at 2.2% in Montana last year, and Barkey sees two particular areas of concern.
