Salish Kootenai College Students in Pablo, Montana Engineer NASA Satellite

Salish Kootenai College http://www.skc.edu/ in Pablo is a small tribal college with just over 1000 students. Despite the small size, a team of students and faculty are working on a satellite for NASA.

"Yeah, so there’ll be one coming off here, and another one that’s a bit longer that will come off the other side," said Tim Olson, Chairman of Div. of Sciences.

CubeSat team leader Tim Olson and first year student Ashley Vincent demonstrate how the antennas will attach onto SKC’s BisonSat Cube Satellite. Back in 2010, Olson had an idea. He wanted to interest students in NASA focused careers through internship opportunities at the college.
