Great Falls Montana Goes Full Speed Ahead!

Keep this quiet. We wouldn’t want word to get out that the GREAT FALLS ECONOMY IS GROWING FASTER THAN EVER!!!
April labor data released this morning by the Montana Department of Labor says that employment in the Great Falls metro area topped 40,000 for the first time. We added another 433 jobs in April, dropping our unemployment rate to 3.8%.
As you know, Moody’s predicted that we would lose 200 jobs in the three year period 2012-2014. So far, we’ve added 2,281 jobs! I love beating expectations!
In the last 9 months, our employment growth has been 3.8%. If we keep this pace going through July, our 12 month growth rate would top 5%.
Hats off to the Great Falls companies who continue to grow and to the new businesses joining our community!
