Cable companies expand public Wi-Fi for customer loyalty

Eager to keep their users connected outside the home, cable companies are rapidly expanding their public Wi-Fi networks.
An effort that began less than two years ago, the "CableWiFi" initiative was formed with the anticipation that cable Internet subscribers will want to remain plugged into their favorite websites and online videos – without eating up the monthly data limits of wireless carrier contracts.
