Finding your way: Better signage in Butte makes for better tourism
April 26, 2014 /
Butte has many attractions to lure travelers into the city, but a new study says some tourists might get too frazzled trying to find the places and end up continuing to the next town.
Legible and visible signage is key. As is upkeep on those signs pointing to the attractions, said a group of college students who prepared "Different Walks of Butte: A Study of Wayfinding."
Jacob Ballweber, a student at the MSU School of Architecture’s Community Design Center, said Friday the group assessed 16 main intersections. The most vital one is Utah and Front, the gateway from the hotels on Harrison Avenue into Uptown.
