Great Falls Sets New Job Record!

The Great Falls metro area achieved its highest ever month for both employment and labor force size in March, according to data released yesterday by the Montana Department of Labor.
Great Falls employers added 610 jobs in March, a jump of 1.56% from February! Our labor force grew by 693 people, an increase of 1.69% since February.
Employment in March beat our previous record month set in June 2008 by 381 jobs. Our labor force size in March topped our previous record month set in August 2010 by 510.
Commercial construction projects already announced for this season, hiring for the new Blue Cross Blue Shield claims processing center and ADF fabrication and assembly plant, work on the Calumet Montana Refining plant expansion, and continued job growth at a number of leading Great Falls companies point us in the right direction to set new employment records throughout 2014.
More primary sector company expansions are in the works that have not yet been announced, as well as significant new retail projects. This week’s announcement of plans for a new Great Falls Clinic 60,000 square foot hospital marks another step forward.
