The Shop puts a Helena spin on urban co-working space trend

The Shop isn’t your typical office space.

From the sidewalk on North Last Chance Gulch, next to Starbucks Coffee, you walk through a pair of doors, down a narrow stairway, through another door and along an unfinished corridor.

The corridor reveals an expansive room that’s as cozy as it is industrial. Corrugated sheet metal and racecar red paint line the walls, and so do flat screen TVs and empty growlers above a kitchenette. A few men work on laptops at desks scattered around the room.

The Shop is what’s known around the country as a co-working space.
