The Montana Board of Regents next month will consider a proposal by the University of Montana to screen veterans for neural injuries and provide support as they transition from the battlefield to college, family living and eventual re-employment.
If approved, the center would tap existing scientific resources across campus to assist student veterans who may suffer from traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress disorder – two hallmarks of the nation’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
