MISSOULIAN EDITORIAL: Budget games a creative, engaging exercise in city spending

Ugh. The budget. The municipal budget, no less.

Is there anything in the world less engaging? Yes, it’s our tax dollars at work. Yes, it’s important. Yes, it deserves our time and attention.

But that doesn’t make it any more fun.

Except, Missoula City Councilwoman Caitlin Copple did find a way to make it fun. Last week, an estimated 100 Missoulians turned out to participate in the first round of the new Missoula Budget Games http://www.strikingly.com/mslabudgetgame – and by all accounts, the participants felt it was a productive, worthwhile way to spend their time. Maybe even a fun way.
