Yellowstone a ‘natural classroom’ for awestruck students

It was bitterly cold, snowing and nearly dark. Through the dim flake-filtered light, Cheryl Jaworowski energetically cross-country skied around the upper travertine terraces here with a group of college students. It was her day off and she couldn’t have been happier.
"I think it’s fun to entertain questions and engage in a discussion with people who are just learning about Yellowstone and its resources and management," the Yellowstone National Park geologist said before packing up at the end of the ski trip. "It’s through those discussions and interactions that we get a better sense of how to protect this ecosystem."
